Harrisburg, Dauphin County—A state lawmaker is speaking out about being robbed early this morning.
State Representative Jaret Gibbons, (D) 10th District, says the robbery happened very fast and that he was surprised that the suspects would rob three people all at the same time.
Gibbons says they were confronted by two robbers who put a gun to his staff member's head, then ordered the three men to get down onto the pavement and hand over all of their possessions.
The robbers then took their wallets, phones, and their car.
Police later found the car and suspects in the Allison Hill section of the city.
Representative Gibbons says while it was a trying experience, he's just glad no one was hurt.
"I'm still a little unnerved but to know that these two men are off the street, their gun is off the street, and hopefully they will be put away and no one else will have to deal with these two," says
He says the incident has reminded him about the importance of funding for police in Pennsylvania.
"That we make sure that they have the reinforcements they need. We need to have officers there to enforce our laws, deter crime, and catch people after they do these things," says Gibbons
Police have charged 23 year-old Michael Chavis and 41 year-old Donnie Dozier with robbery, and carrying a firearm without a license.
Gibbons says almost all of their things were returned.
