HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY—Things we use every day like deodorant, toilet paper, and razors are easy to take for granted.
But the Catholic Charities Interfaith Family Shelter in Harrisburg desperately needs those supplies.
The shelter helps people like Devorah and Keith Brown who have fallen on some hard times.
They recently lost their business, and were sleeping in their car. They say the shelter is helping them get back on their feet.
"You have families that come in with no diapers, no towels, no washcloths no toothpaste, no toothbrushes, no soap. And they give you all of that when you come in, and all of that comes to them through donations. So without donations places like this will not be able to run," says Mrs. Brown
In a tough economy the shelter is running very low on supplies.
" As we all know things are very tough with the economy right now. Here at the Interfaith Shelter we are near capacity and that has been pretty consistent for quite some time, " says Christopher Meehan, of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Harrisburg.
The shelter is asking anyone to give what they can.
