An unarmed teenager was shot and killed in his home on East 229th street in the Wakefield section of the Bronx.

The victim has been identified as Ramarly Graham, 18. Circumstances that led to the shooting are preliminary, sources tell PIX11 News police officers saw Graham make a motion about his waist that led them to believe he was armed. As the officers approached him, the teenager took off and ran into 749 E 229th street. Officers chased close behind and reached the teen's second floor apartment where he lives.

One shot was fired hitting Graham in the chest/torso. He was transported to a hospital nearby where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Graham appears to have been on unarmed.

The entire length of the block has been closed off, considered a crime scene. Graham's parents were at the White Plains Rd intersection visibly agitated and a crowd of approximately 80 people were openly hostile towards police, berating officers lined up along the crime scene tape.

Police at the scene are awaiting a search warrant to re-enter Graham's apartment.
