NEW YORK (PIX11)—A fire and water main break are making it difficult for commuters to get home Friday night.
A fire in the West 8th Street-NY Aquarium subway station is affecting service on the Q, F and B lines -- the one-alarm fire broke out in the relay room that contains electrical equipment for signals.
According to the FDNY, the fire can't be extinguished until the power is turned off. There is currently no B service between Coney Island-Stillwell Ave. Station and Bedford Park Boulevard Station.
There is no Q service in both directions from the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station to the Brighton Beach Station. The MTA is advising that customers take the B68 bus that is making station stops.
"Select" downtown F trains are not running past Kings Highway Station.
Due to a water main break at the 145th Street Station, downtown A trains are running local from the 168th Street Station to the 59th Street-Columbus Circle Station.
Downtown B trains running express from the 170th Street Station to the 59th Street-Columbus Circle Station.
Uptown D trains running local from the 145th Street Station to the Bedford Park Boulevard Station.
