An accident between a school bus and a cement truck in Nassau County has killed one person and left multiple people injured, according to police.
The collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at the intersection of Oyster Bay Rd. and Matinecock near the border of Locust Valley and Matinecock.

The cement truck was traveling down Oyster Bay Road when it struck the underside of a LIRR bridge with a clearance of 10’1”. After hitting the bridge it collided head-on with the school bus, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
According to police at the scene, the driver was killed in the crash, and the four children and one bus monitor sustained minor injuries and were taken to University Medical Center.
Eastbound LIRR train service has been stopped at Oyster Bay; passengers are asked to get off at the station and take the buses being provided.
A police investigation is ongoing.
