Cops On The Hunt For 2 Armed Rapists In Brooklyn
Cops in Brooklyn are trying to get two armed rapists off the streets.

A creep threatened a woman with a box cutter in Crown Heights before raping her early Monday on a rooftop on Bergen Street according to police.

Cops say the woman was standing outside, smoking a cigarette and waiting for a cab at about 2 a.m. when the guy showed up and threatened her with the box cutter. He then forced her to go inside and up to the roof of the building where she says he raped her.

One witness told PIX 11, "I heard her scream. I was on my way home and I got to the door and the guy ran out and then the girl." He went on to say, "My friend chased him up the block and he jumped in a cab."

The woman was taken to Kings County Hospital and treated. Other witnesses say there were actually two men involved and they fled in waiting cabs but that has not been confirmed.

Meanwhile residents complained about lax security in the building.

"Winter, spring, fall the door is always open," said one woman. "The door is always open. So when I came out and heard, I wasn't too surprised."

Cops are also hunting for another armed rapist who struck in Brighton Beach.

They say they responded to a call for a sexual assault in progress. When they spotted a guy who fit the description, he ran and then turned and fired a shot at them.

He's identified as Norman Vanigas of Brooklyn and he has a $12,000.00 dollar reward on his head.

If you know anything about either case, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 800 577 TIPS.
