FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (PIX11)—A Nassau County Police officer has been suspended without pay a week after he drew his service weapon while off-duty inside a Long island bar.
According to officials, the officer, who was not identified was suspended without pay as a result of an investigation that determined misconduct played a role in the incident.
Officials say their internal investigation which included interviews with witnesses and reviewing the surveillance video confirmed the inappropriate display of the officer's firearm which ultimately prompted the suspension.
It wasn't immediately clear what prompted the officer to pull out his weapon which has since been surrendered to authorities.
