Crystal Webberly

A Long Island woman was busted by police right as she was prepping to shoot up with heroin inside her car with her baby sitting in the back seat.

According to Suffolk County Police, Crystal Webberly, 29, of Shirley, was spotted by officers sitting in her vehicle parked in the Toys R Us in Holbrook parking lot Thursday afternoon. Officers say they witnessed Webberly tie a strap around her left arm.

The officers approached the vehicle right as the suspect prepared to inject herself with heroin. Upon further inspection, they discovered Webberly's 2-month-old son sitting in the backseat.

Webberly, who did not proceed with the injection of heroin, was taken into custody and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Another woman inside the vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Jacqueline Dattilo, was also arrested at the scene. She was charged with loitering, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. A notification to Child Protective Services was made and the child was released into the custody of his grandmother.

The pair were arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
