LI Man Attempted To Swap Drugs For Sex With Child: Cops

A Long Island man was arrested after police said he arranged to have sex with a 12-year-old girl in exchange for prescription pills.

According to Nassau County detectives, Walter Hurst, 57, of Bayshore, arrived at a hotel in Hicksville Thursday night to meet with a 12 year old female to perform a criminal sexual act.

Hurst made arrangements with a unknown third party that in exchange for ten oxycodone pills he would be able to have a sexual encounter with the child, police said

When Hurst arrived at the hotel, he was placed under arrest. Cops say he was in possession of ten oxycodone pills along with one ativan pill.

He is charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal solicitation. He will be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
