Long Island Gas Rationing Ends Friday; Queens-Midtown Tunnel To Open
Odd-even gas rationing has served its purpose, according to Nassau and Suffolk County executives, and will end at midnight Friday.

While gas supplies have grown substantially thanks to out-of-state deliveries and repairs to the infrastructure, they aren't yet back to pre-Sandy levels.

New York City officials have not declared an end to gas rationing after instituting the system Nov. 9, along with Suffolk and Nassau Counties.

Thursday, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo also announced that the Queens-Midtown Tunnel will re-open at 6 a.m. Friday.

The Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, which is running car and bus traffic through the Eastern Lane, is the last tunnel not completely open.
