Lindsay Lohan's Ankle Monitor Goes Off, Police Investigate

Lindsay Lohan in court

Probation officials in California visited Lindsay Lohan after her new ankle monitor went off earlier this week.  Turns out the actress was actually at home the whole time.

According to authorities, the incident occurred just five days into Lohan’s 35 day house arrest ordered after she allegedly took a diamond necklace from a Venice store without paying for it.

Lohan, who is currently living in a rented townhouse in Venice Beach worth $2.25 million, later pleaded no contest in the case.

"Lindsay's electronic monitoring system went off on Monday. When a representative from the monitoring company went to her home, the representative found Lindsay there," Lawyer Shawn Holley said in a statement.

In addition to the 4-month house arrest, she also has to perform 480 hours of community service as well, part of which will take place at the Los Angeles County morgue.
