JACKSON HEIGHTS, NY—Firefighters battled a commercial blaze in Queens Saturday, destroying an entire row of businesses.
Flames broke out just before 10 a.m. on 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights.
More than 180 firefighters reported to the scene. Thick smoke could be seen as far away as Long Island City.
The damage has not yet been fully assessed, but sources tell PIX News a furniture store, a frame shop, a dry cleaner, an art supply store, a packaging store and a beauty supply store have all been affected.
No one was injured.
Fire officials believe the fire started at Acme Furniture, then spread to adjacent businesses.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
