NEW YORK (PIX11)—You've seen it previewed here on PIX11 during Morning Show Fashion Highlights, or with our very own Savvy Shopper, and finally, after hitting the catwalk, the new Versace for H&M Collections hits store shelves Saturday.
We went to Fifth to check out the buzz, and saw the world-renowned name plastered on everything. It was obvious that shopping, in this case, was a sport involving workers with blow horns, and shoppers using the quick grab and go approach. "We're trying to do it in 15 minutes. It's power shopping. It's amazing," one shopper said.
Powershopping for a new high-end but affordable collection.
"I think it's really great because it gives affordable clothing to people who really want the Versace line and brand," another shopper waiting in the long line said.
Donatella Versace follows other famous designers who collaborate with H&M. Stella McCartney and Madonna are among the early big-names to sell to a wider consumer base. But, fashionistas tell us it's the bright colors that set the new collection apart. "I love the colors, so I think it's going to be a very good line," one fashionista said.
The newest addition to the fashion world gives more people the chance to say: "Oh this old thing? It's Versace".
