GREAT KILLS PARK (WPIX)—Firefighters were scrambling Tuesday afternoon to put out a 3-alarm brush fire that erupted in Great Kills Park on Staten Island.
AIR 11 was over the scene of the blaze that started near Hyland Blvd. and Buffalo Street at around 4:30 pm.
According to fire officials, the fire started in one area of the park and spread quickly across a street to another section of the park.
No injuries or evacuations were reported. Firefighters were successful in extinguishing the fire shortly before 6 p.m.
