BAY RIDGE (PIX11) -- People are talking trash in Brooklyn. Greg Ahl, with Community Board Ten, took PIX 11 News for a tour of the worst trash piles in Dyker Heights and Bay Ridge.
259 69th street, near Bay Ridge Avenue had an alley full of garbage. "It has been here for years," said Ahl.
Ahl, along with other concerned residents have complained to the Sanitation Department multiple times. Ahl claims nothing has been done. "This is now a health hazard," said Ahl.
Ahl also took PIX11 News up and down Fifth avenue where piles of trash where piling up on the street.
"The problem is, people dump their personal trash into city pails. It doesn't get picked up and really piles up and smells, " said Ahl.
PIX 11 News informed the Sanitation Department of each of the trouble spots. The Department of Sanitation promised to check on it and clean it up right away.
