4-Alarm Fire Tears Through Harlem Water Treatment Plant
A four-alarm fire tore through a water treatment plant in Harlem Wednesday, prompting the evacuation and closure of Riverbank State Park and the Henry Hudson Parkway.

The fire, which broke out in the engine room on the second level of the North River waste water treatment plant, started around 11:46am, officials said.

While no injuries were reported, while nearly 200 firefighters, 16 engines, and 10 ladders responded to the fire, according to an FDNY spokesperson.

The facility lies on the west side of the West Side Highway between 137th St. to 145th St. in Harlem.
