Catholic School Teacher Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Female Student
A Catholic school teacher in Staten Island was released without bail Thursday after being accused of sexually abusing a female student.

Danielle Johnsen, 29, denies having a sexual relationship with the 16-year-old and pleaded not guilty Thursday in Stapleton Criminal Court.

According to reports, Johnsen, a science teacher at Notre Dame Academy in Grymes Hill, made out with the student on three separate occasions; twice in her car and once at her home. She then ended the relationship with the high school sophomore causing the student to become depressed.

A spokesman for Staten Island District attorney Daniel Donovan Jr. said, Johnsen is being charged with one count of third-degree sexual abuse and three counts of acting in a manner injurious to a child

Police say, while at Johnsen's home, the teacher seduced the young student while they watched a movie. Johnsen then performed a sex act on the teen with her hand.

The student wrote about her broken heart on the blog site Tumblr. Friends of the student then notified a guidance counselor when they saw the posts.
