A two-alarm fire has erupted in Baldwin, Long Island, leaving at least one firefighter injured.
The fire was reported just after 9 a.m. at 2386 South Grand Avenue near Prospect Street.
Reports says the fire began on the second floor and extended into the cockloft of the two-story structure. Flames shot through the roof and spread to neighboring buildings.
By 10:45 a.m., the main body of the fire was under control. There were reports of a roof collapse in the rear of 2386 South Grand Avenue.
One firefighter injured and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for heat exhaustion.
The Suffolk Count hazmat team was requested to the scene.
Fire companies from nearby Rockville Centre, Roosevelt, Oceanside and South Hempstead were on the scene to help extinguish the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
