The Hokies will play in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on September 19, 2020. The Wolverines will travel to Blacksburg for a game on September 11, 2021.
“I am pleased that Dave Brandon (Michigan AD) and I have been able to work out this agreement,” Virginia Tech Director of Athletics Jim Weaver wrote in a news release. “Michigan is the winningest college football program in the country, and it will be exciting to have the Wolverines come to Lane Stadium.”
The two schools have only played once – the 2012 Sugar Bowl. Michigan won that game 23-20 in overtime. Click here to see our coverage of that game.
This is the third Big Ten team on future Virginia Tech schedules. The Hokies will travel to Ohio State in 2014, and the Buckeyes come to Blacksburg in 2015. Also, Virginia Tech has a two-game series with Wisconsin beginning in 2016.
