Thousands of people are without power after Thursday's storms.
According to the Appalachian Power website, as of 5:35 p.m., here are some of the latest outage numbers:
-In Roanoke County, more than 17,000 customers do not have electricity.
-In Roanoke City, just under 14,000 people are without power.
-In Bedford County, the number tops 13,0000.
-In Campbell County, more than 10,000 people are without power
-More than 8,000 are without power in Franklin County.
More than 600 contract line workers are being dispatched to Virginia and West Virginia to help Appalachian Power crews and local contractors.
Right now Appalachian Power doesn't have an estimate when power will be restored because of the amount of damage caused by the storm.
3:15 p.m. Thursday: As strong storms roll through the area, many Appalachian Power customers are experiencing power outages.
