Storm causes damage in Roanoke area

Friday's storm has passed but it left behind some damage especially around Roanoke.

At the Liberty gas station on Plantation Road, the storm knocked down a tree.

But the worst of the damage happened at Advance Auto Parts on Blue Hills Drive.

A trailer was knocked over by the wind.

Also, the warehouse roof appeared to be damaged.

Pieces of insulation were spread across the yard and fence.

Workers were outside Friday night cleaning it up.

We were told by an employee that no one was allowed to speak with us so we don't know the extent of the damage.

The storm's destruction stretched from Roanoke to Nelson County.

Along Patrick Henry Highway there are broken tree limbs.

The storm will keep some busy this weekend with clean-up.
