Stocked Market helps shoppers stock up for the holidays

It's not even Thanksgiving, but already people are getting into the holiday spirit.

Welcome to the Junior League's 24th annual Stocked Market shopping event.

Every year, the Roanoke Civic Center transforms into a mall, of sorts, with speciality stores.

This year 125-vendors with clothes, chocolates and other treats have transformed the civic center into a shopping wonderland.

The Junior Leagues says this is a fun event, but it's also important to give back to the community.

"All the moneys, so the proceeds that the vendors are charged to be here and the proceeds from tickets sales and things like that all go right back into the community for various projects the Junior League sponsors," explains Stocked Market co-chair Ashley Feuerstein.

WDBJ7 is also at the event, our very own Melissa Gaona was handing out stockings in connection with the Salvation Army.

Every year, we team together to fill the stockings for needy children who might not otherwise have a Christmas.

Shopping goes until 7o'clock Saturday night and resumes Sunday from 10a.m. until 5p.m.
