Running a marathon is tough. Planning one might be even tougher.
Organizers for the Blue Ridge Marathon are working on the big event right now. It is April 20th and will feature some legends of running.
1972 Olympic Marathon gold metalist Frank Shorter and four-time Boston Marathon winner Bill Rodgers will run in the marathon. Bart Yasso is nicknamed the "Mayor of Running" and is a Running USA Hall of Famer.
Those three men will be part of a five-man team running the marathon as a relay. Two contestants will run the other two legs with the men.
Organizers hope bringing these big names in will give the area more attention.
