Rooftop of Virginia helps combat poverty by educating and training low-income residents to help them find work.
Last month, police searched the office in an investigation into non-profit funds being used for personal use. The Executive Director, Christian Bedsaul, and Human Resource Manager, Sharon Nichols, were listed as suspects.
The Rooftop of Virginia Board of Directors voted Thursday to fire the two employees.
They say it's in an effort to reassure its clients that the ongoing investigation will have no effect on it's ability to provide services.
Rooftop of Virginia has been in the Twin Counties for more than 45 years, helping over 4,000 families each year, according to a press release.
