Many folks in the Roanoke Valley would say we're in the midst of a donut deficit.
The Olde Salem Bakery says they've seen a boom in business since the Krispy Kreme closed.
The store put signs out around Salem urging regulars looking for a spot to hang out to come to their store.
Managers say they've benefited by being one of the only donut shops in town, at least for now.
“We had a lot of new customers that came in at the end of the week to just get a feel for what all was going on and what we had, and they were really excited that we had donuts and that they were made daily and what they're used to with the other stores,” Manager Janie Whitlow said.
Managers said a group of new customers was in the store early this morning to meet with other Krispy Kreme regulars.
