ROANOKE, Va.—School's almost out, but now is the time to think about next school year - at least when it comes to seeing the doctor.
Pediatricians are busy doing physicals and giving the required vaccinations for next school year.
Dr. Robert Gard with Physicians to Children says parents should not wait too long to get their children up to date.
“If kids have kindergarten coming up they need to make sure they get their physicals or else the schools will say you can't come in without a physical kids going into sixth grade need to get seen for their tetanus pertussis booster,” Dr. Gard said.
Dr. Gard says all children should have a physical every year.
Most school districts have a list of what is required on their school website along with the required forms parents need.
