ROANOKE, Va.—The two-day Mission of Mercy free dental clinic will be held April 1st and 2nd at the Roanoke Civic Center.
But this year, there is a change in how patients will be received. Every patient will need to have a ticket to get treatment. The tickets will be handed out Saturday, March 26th at 10AM it the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts at Crossroads Mall (5008 Airport Road, NW, Roanoke, VA 24012).
This location is on the bus route. Please do not enter the parking lot until 9AM. Tickets will not be given out before 10AM on Saturday, March 26. Do not attempt to get tickets from the Advance offices, Advance stores, or any Advance employees.
Patients must have a ticket to receive services at the event. Each person in line will receive 1 ticket and an instruction/registration packet. The individual receiving the ticket does not have to be the person wishing to receive services. Only adults (18+) will be able to receive services at the project.
A ticket does not guarantee services. Individuals seeking services will undergo a medical screening process after registration at the event.
In the previous three years the Mission of Mercy project was in Roanoke, more than 3,000 people received treatment equaling $1.7 Million in free dental service.
More volunteer dentists are still needed.
Treatment available will include cleanings, x-rays, oral surgery, and fillings.
