Galax man wins $200,000 top prize in Virginia Lottery "Win It All" game

A Galax man is $200,000 dollars richer.

William Jones bought a "Win It All" scratcher ticket from the Virginia Lottery at the Kangaroo Express on South Main Street in Galax. And he won the top prize.

Jones didn't plan on buying the ticket when he stopped at the store. He says he just wanted to pick-up a soft drink.

He takes top prize in Win It All Scratcher game

 

William Jones was on his way to work when he bought a Win It AllScratcher ticket from the Virginia Lottery. The Galax man just wanted to pick up a soft drink. Instead, he walked out of the store with a $200,000 top-prize-winning ticket.

 

“I knew it was a winner, but I figured maybe five or ten dollars,” he told Lottery officials as he claimed his prize. “I took it to the clerk and said, ‘Am I looking at this right?’ She said, ‘You sure are!’”

 

He bought the winning ticket at Kangaroo Express, 806 South Main Street in Galax.

 

Win It All is one of dozens of games available from the Virginia Lottery.  It features prizes ranging from $5 all the way up to $200,000. This is the third top prize claimed in Win It All, which means two top-prize tickets remain unclaimed.

 

Mr. Jones, who works at a furniture manufacturer, said he plans to save his winnings for retirement.
