UPDATED: Ply Gem to add 100 more jobs in Franklin County by the end of 2014

Ply Gem Windows in Franklin County announced this morning that they plan on adding 100 jobs by the end of 2014.

The company has already hired 100 people in Franklin County this year alone and looks to add another 100 jobs by the end of 2014.

Company managers say they expect to get to that number much sooner.

Along with the facility near Rocky Mount, the company has factories across the country.

Ply Gem will spend about $7 million to expand its Franklin County facility.  And that's why they're able to hire this many people.

Company representatives say this isn't good news just for Franklin County.

One of Ply Gem’s biggest products is residential windows, so they say a higher demand for those means the housing market and economy is bouncing back.

While Tuesday's announcement is good news for PlyGem, their staffing is still not up to pre-recession levels. The company had to let workers go during the recession.
