Four local high school bands play to raise money for students to go to college

The Community College Access Program (CCAP) is a tuition assistance program at Virginia Western Community College.

It makes college available for students who could not otherwise afford to attend.

CCAP supports as many students as possible, based on availability of funds and program eligibility.

All proceeds of the Trane Music Festival will benefit CCAP.

The music festival will be full of performances by bands from Patrick Henry, Salem, William Fleming, and Franklin County High Schools, in addition to a Roanoke Symphony Orchestra ensemble performance.

The Trane Music Festival will take place on Saturday, March 16 at 4 p.m., at the Roanoke Performing Arts Theatre.

Tickets are $10, 16 and under are free.

Tickets are on sale at the Roanoke Civic Center box office.

CCAP is currently available in Franklin County and the cities of Salem and Roanoke.
