BOTETOURT CO., Va.—Winter weather can be a mixed blessing for many of us, certainly for folks on the farm.
Ned Jeter is a cattle farmer in Botetourt County. "Just before the snow last week, we had just a wonderful rain," Jeter told us Thursday afternoon. "We had almost four inches of good steady rain. Every bit of the rain soaked through the ground. The ground wasn't frozen. It was really a lifesaver.
Jeter says he's looking forward to the snow that's in Friday's forecast, as long as it leaves the ice behind.
