Have you ever tried a deep fried Oreo? It's popular at this year's Salem Fair.

The deep fried Oreos only take four minutes to make. It's almost as popular as the funnel cake.

The fair also has a donut burger. It's a hamburger, cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato between two Krispy Kreme donuts.

But don't ask for the number of calories or fat grams.

"When you come to the fair you leave your diet at home and you just come and have a good time and enjoy everything that's here," says food vendor James Ingram, Jr.

The Salem Fair tried selling healthier food a few years ago but people didn't buy it.

"We had salads and fruit and it just didn't work," says organizer Carey Harveycutter Jr.

The food craze next year may be deep fried Kool Aid. It debuted this year in California and was a big hit. Ingram says he's working on a recipe.
