They may be long extinct, but dinosaurs came to life today for elementary school students.
It's full of bones and full cast models of reptiles and animals that roamed the earth millions of years ago.
Kids can dig for fossils or travel through a maze that debunks a myth that all these animals are dinosaurs.
"Other things that swim in the water and so for are sometimes grouped together because they're strange, and they are ancient life forms, but that doesn't mean that they were a dinosaur," said Denny Casey, the Education Director at the Virginia Museum of Natural History.
The exhibit officially opens Saturday.
Scientists will be uncovering dinosaur bones given to the museum that were in storage for nearly 15 years.
Most of the scientists there work hands on at digging sites near Richmond and in Wyoming.
