Buena Vista Parade attracts big names in Virginia Politics

They call it the kick off to the political season in Virginia, but for the town of Buena Vista, it might as well be the Super Bowl.

Their annual Labor Day Parade attracts big political names and is the talk of the town.

Margaret Byers calls this small-town Labor Day tradition a labor of love.

"I just love doing it," Byers says. 

All the heavy political hitters did politics old school today; shaking hand after hand that belonged to a screaming supporter, adamant opponent or undecided voter.

All the Buena Vista residents and politicians we spoke with say this is the true kick-off of the political season leading up to November elections, and it's something they take a lot of pride in.
