Saturday was the first day of the week long- "Vision Awareness Days."
Booths are set up in Roanoke's Valley View Mall to promote and raise awarenss of vision loss.
In addition to information, the Lion's Club set up shop to do free eye tests.
The scan can determine if you need a more extensive exam.
The goal is to make everyone aware of the possibilities.
"As baby boomers age we think the rates of vision loss is going to increase dramatically and we want to let people know there are programs and services available if they have vision loss," explains Voice of the Blue Ridge's Executive Director Jan Smyth.
Vision Awareness Days are hosted by the Voice of the Blue Ridge and other Roanoke-area agencies that promote vision in the region.
The event will wrap next Saturday with a blind artist and his journey.
