On November 30, President Obama hosted Congressional leaders, including the soon to be House Republican leadership to try to reach common ground on major issues such as extending the Bush tax cuts, extending unemployment benefits, and repealing 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell.' Both sides left the meeting with optimistic assessments. The meeting was dubbed 'The Slurpee Summit' after it was referenced by the president as such during a press conference.
