Q: What's with the phony construction zone on eastbound Interstate 595 near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport? There are orange barrels and four speed limit reductions from 65 mph to 35 mph between I-95 and U.S. 1, but one thing is missing — construction.

Q: I have to travel from Lake Worth to Southwest 10th Street in Deerfield Beach. Florida's Turnpike is the fastest route. Mapping software sends me west on the Sawgrass Expressway, since there is no exit to Southwest 10th Street, then has me exit at Lyons Road and make a U-turn to head east on the Sawgrass to 10th Street. The problem is there's a toll at the east end of the Sawgrass. Why does anyone coming from Lyons to 10th Street have to pay a toll traveling such a short distance?

Although that feature disappeared some time ago, most SunPass lanes at toll plazas still flashed a yellow light when you had a low balance. However, the new electronic toll lanes don't have those flashing lights any more. Is the only resource now to check your account online?

Q: Why wasn't an exit built from the Interstate 95 express lanes to Interstate 195? When I go to Miami Beach, I take the flyover to westbound State Road 112, then exit at Northwest 22nd Avenue and get back on eastbound S.R. 112 which leads to I-195. I have to pay a toll, but if traffic isn't bad it only takes an extra five minutes.

And how can tolls be allowed on Interstate 95 between Miami and Fort Lauderdale? Robert Katz, Boynton Beach
