Two Shallow Quakes Strike Central California
SAN JUAN BAUTISTA, Calif. (KTLA) -- At least two earthquakes struck near the coast in central California Friday morning.

A magnitude 3.0 earthquake hit two miles from San Juan Bautista at 10:53 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter was six miles from Aromas and 40 miles from San Jose City Hall. The shallow quake had a depth of 3.4 miles.

Another earthquake struck in the same place at 11:39 a.m. This one had a magnitude of 2.8, according to the USGS.
