Prosecutors in Peterson trial can't bring bathtub into court
Drew Peterson (HANDOUT / May 7, 2009)
Prosecutors said they could reinstall the bathtub in Savio’s Bolingbrook home and have jurors visit the scene. Judge Edward Burmila said, depending on the trial testimony regarding Savio’s injuries, he may consider that option.
Peterson, a former Bolingbrook police sergeant, is scheduled to go to trial in the slaying of Savio, his third wife, on July 30. He also is a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.
Savio was found drowned in her dry Bolingbrook bathtub in 2004, but a coroner's jury ruled the death an accident.
After Stacy Peterson disappeared in 2007, Savio's body was exhumed, and Drew Peterson was charged with murder. He has not been charged in Stacy Peterson's disappearance but remains the only suspect.
