Local NYC Contestants Compete For Their Own Show On 'Food Network Star'
It's no secret that PIX11 Morning News anchor Frances Rivera loves food. So while sitting on set with local contestants of "Food Network Star," she had to show some restraint to keep from diving into the chef's dishes. Luckily, her co-anchor Sukanya Krishnan was there to keep the interview with Justin Warner and Yvan Lemoine on track.

Justin and Yvan are both New York City restaurant chefs competing on this season's "Food Network Star." The show features Alton Brown, Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis to guide the 15 contestants as they compete for their own food network show. This season, each of the chefs pick 5 contestants to mentor throughout the season. The mentor will then produce the winner's new show!

Alton's team- Justin Warner, 27 (Brooklyn, N.Y.), a self-taught cook, is owner/chef of a hip Brooklyn restaurant that he built from the ground up. Justin relies on his instincts and personal experience to put a unique spin on every dish he serves. He began working in restaurants at just thirteen years old, and has knowledge of the industry that extends way beyond his years. His approach to food reflects his personality – edgy, intense, passionate and witty.

Giada's team- Yvan Lemoine, 30 (Maspeth, N.Y.), was born and raised in Venezuela and moved to New York when he was thirteen. He cooked frequently for himself and his brothers, and developed an interest for cooking when he started a culinary arts internship through a program at his high school. He has worked at elite New York restaurants with well-known chefs, including Jacques Torres and Rocco DiSpirito. Yvan now cooks for the French Consulate and bartends at a New York hot spot where he creates out-of-the-box cocktails.
