PIX 11 is launching a new series called “Fresh” highlighting what’s good in your ‘hood. This week, we take you to breakfast at Midtown’s The Lambs Club inside the Chatwal Hotel.

The dining room is all done up deco style in red leather and Woody Allen picked the place as the spot for his latest star-studded  screening. So, it may not surprise you that it’s a slightly tough reservation to nab. But, breakfast is definitely the new black!

The food is courtesy of star chef Geoffrey Zakarian, who cut his chops at Le Cirque, the 21 Club, 44 at the Royalton and other hotspots. But if you’ve never been to those places, maybe you know him from The Food Network’s reality show “Chopped.”

The breakfast menu blends healthy (freshly squeezed juices and fruit) with decadent (eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce, and lemon-ricotta pancakes). You can take a look at the menu here: http://www.thelambsclub.com/. But as you chow down and catch up with friends, take a look around. They don’t call it Lambs Club for nothing! The building you’re sitting in was originally opened in 1905 as home to the prestigious Lambs, America’s first professional theatrical club.  And Stanford White, a partner at prominent architectural firm McKim, Mead, and White, was the original architect of The Lambs clubhouse.

If you have any recommendations for something that’s “Fresh” in your neighborhood, please let us know. It doesn’t have to be a restaurant, it can be anything you think our viewers would like to know about.
