The Rams lost to the Saints, 49-21, in Jared Goff's second career start. The rookie threw three touchdown passes in the first half, but L.A. couldn't keep up with Drew Brees, who finished with four passing touchdowns and a rushing score.


First quarter:

  • Saints QB Drew Brees dives one-yard for a touchdown (Saints 21, Rams 14)
  • Saints WR Michael Thomas scores on a six-yard catch (Saints 28, Rams 14)
  • Rams TE Lance Kendricks catches a 15-yard pass for a TD (Saints 28, Rams 21)

Third quarter:

  • Saints RB Mark Ingram scores a TD on a 21-yard catch and run (Saints 35, Rams 21)
  • Saints WR Michael Thomas scores on a 21-yard catch (Saints 42, Rams 21)

Fourth quarter:

  • Saints RB Tim Hightower catches a 50-yard pass from WR Willie Snead for a TD (Saints 49, Rams 21)

    Jared Goff throws third touchdown in first half

    Jared Goff has put together a nice performance in his first NFL road start.

    Facing third and two from the Saints' 32-yard line, Goff completed a 24-yard pass to Lance Kendricks.

    Then he found Kenny Britt for a 17-yard pass and Kendricks again for a 15-yard touchdown reception.

    New Orleans leads the Rams, 28-21, with 55 seconds remaining in the first half. The scoring drive covered 79 yards in eight plays and took 1:29. 

    Goff is 12 of 20 for 167 yards and three touchdowns.

    Left tackle Rodger Saffold injured his hand during the series; his return is questionable.
