The Rams might have suffered more than a loss on Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks.

Rookie quarterback Jared Goff left the game and was being evaluated for a concussion after absorbing a fourth-quarter hit in the Rams’ 24-3 defeat at CenturyLink Field.

Goff, the No. 1 pick in the draft, was injured after scrambling and absorbing a hit by Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.

Goff got up and went to the Rams’ huddle, but officials called a medical timeout and Goff was removed from the game and then escorted to the locker room.

Goff’s injury was another blow for a franchise that was humiliated by the Atlanta Falcons four days before and fired Coach Jeff Fisher on Monday.

John Fassel took some chances and tried to inject some life into the Rams in his debut as interim coach.

He went for it on fourth down, called for long passes and fake punts and even lined up an offensive lineman in the backfield.

But that was hardly enough against the Seahawks.

The Rams lost for the ninth time in 10 games and dropped to 4-10.

The Seahawks beat the Rams for the first time in four games and clinched the NFC West by improving to 9-4-1.

Before he was injured, Goff continued to struggle on a night when the Rams worst-in-the-NFL offense produced 183 yards.

Goff was trying to bounce back from last Sunday’s performance against the Falcons, when he had two passes intercepted – including a pick six – and had the ball stripped and returned for a touchdown.

On Thursday, he completed 13 of 25 passes for 135 yards. He was sacked five times.

Todd Gurley rushed for 38 yards in 14 carries, 22 yards coming on one carry.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who had five passes intercepted in last week’s loss at Green Bay, completed 19 of 26 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns, with one interception.

Both teams looked sluggish four days after embarrassing losses on Sunday.

Wilson gave the Seahawks a 7-0 lead in the second quarter on a short touchdown pass to tight end Luke Willson.

The Seahawks added a field goal, but the Rams pulled to within, 10-3, with a Greg Zuerlein field goal just before halftime.

The Rams appeared to create a break in the third quarter when linebacker Bryce Hager intercepted a pass in the end zone. But officials ruled that he did not have control of the ball when his second foot came down inbounds.

Wilson then tossed a short pass to Doug Baldwin for a 17-3 lead.

He added a 57-yard touchdown pass to receiver Tyler Lockett early in the fourth quarter for a 24-3 lead.

The Seahawks defeat the Rams, 24-3, to clinch NFC West

Alec Ogletree intercepted Russell Wilson and the Rams took over at their nine-yard line, but were unable to convert the turnover into any points.

Case Keenum, in at quarterback while Jared Goff is being evaluated for a concussion, completed three consecutive passes for five, 16 and six yards to start the drive.

But it stalled after a couple incompletions and one-yard run by Todd Gurley.

The Seahawks took a knee to end the game and clinch the NFC West.

Alec Ogletree intercepts Russell Wilson

Alec Ogletree intercepted Russell Wilson and returned it eight yards to the Rams' nine-yard line.

This game has turned into a chaotic mess.

Jon Ryan faked a punt and took off for a first down. He tried to move the ball from one arm to the other as he sprinted down field, then got tackled and knocked out. He was helped off the field.

Ryan gained 33 yards but is now being evaluated for a concussion.

Later, Aaron Donald was called for a personal foul for throwing the referees flag that landed near him.

Meanwhile, Jared Goff is being evaluated for a concussion.

Jared Goff knocked out of the game by Richard Sherman

Jared Goff saw an opening and took off. The rookie quarterback, however, didn't step out of bounds on the long run and instead Richard Sherman hit him out - hard.

Goff was taken out of the game by referees and shortly after walked into the locker room.

Case Keenum took over and, with nothing to lose, the Rams attempted a long fourth-down pass into the end zone. It fell incomplete and the Seahawks will takeover on downs at the Rams' 18-yard line.

Seahawks fans have started to trickle toward the exits, their team leading 24-3 with 7:19 remaining in the game.

The pain continues for the Rams.

The Rams' defense broke down.

Baldwin caught a 17-yard pass, Jimmy Graham broke three tackles on a 31-yard reception and Luke Willson caught a nine-yard pass in the first three plays of the series.

Bryce Hager nearly intercepted Wilson in the end zone, but the pass was ruled incomplete. John Fassel through the challenge flag for a first time, but the call stood after review. It appeared Haged did not have control before going out of bounds.

Rams defensive back Michael Jordan was injured during the series.

Jared Goff sacked twice in one series

Jared Goff.

Sacked. Twice.

Goff was sacked, fumbled and recovered the ball on the first play of the drive.

He was also sacked on the last play of the drive.

In between, Tavon Austin rushed for nine yards and the Seahawks were called offsides.

This isn't a pretty football game.

Goff has been sacked four times.

The Seahawks have nine penalties for 66 yards. The Rams have three for 25.

The Rams ran back-to-back plays for more than 20 yards.

Jared Goff completed a 24-yard pass to Kenny Britt and then Todd Gurley bounced off the edge to gain 22 yards.

The drive stalled when Goff was nearly picked by Richard Sherman in the end zone, Gurley rushed for a yard and then Pharoh Cooper caught a pass far short of a first down.

Russell Wilson sacked a second time and Seahawks punt

The Seahawks series was doomed from the start.

Alec Ogletree made a tackle for a loss before the Seahawks committed a false start and Ethan Westbrooks sacked Russell Wilson.

John Ryan punted.

Wilson has been sacked twice and the Seahawks have been held to 103 total yards of offense.

Jared Goff is sacked a second time

Jared Goff was sacked and it looked painful. Media members in the press box even cringed.

Johnny Hekker punted.

The Rams continue to struggle on offense.

Greg Robinson was called for a false start, piling onto the disappointing season from the No. 2 pick in the 2014 draft.

Goff has moved well, for the most part, inside the pocket but he has had few (or no) open receivers against the Seahawks' defense.

The Seahawks lead the Rams, 10-0, in the second quarter

The Seahawks took over on downs at the Rams' 30-yard line but traveled nowhere after a few nice plays by the Rams.

Nevertheless, Steven Hauschka kicked a 48-yard field goal and the Seahawks lead the Rams, 10-0, with 8:45 remaining in the second quarter. The four plays in the scoring drive took 2:03.

This game can't be an endorsement to continue Thursday Night Football.

Rams attempt some trickeration, but turn ball over on downs

Johnny Hekker, no record (yet) for you!

The Rams punter needs one more ball down inside the 20-yard line to set a record. Instead, the former high school quarterback attempted a fourth-down pass to Michael Thomas, but the pass fell incomplete.

The Seahawks will take over on the Rams' 30-yard line.

Malcolm Brown was tackled for a four-yard loss on the first play of the drive, digging the Rams a hole they couldn't get out of.

The Seahawks lead the Rams, 7-0, in the second quarter

Between timeouts and challenges, this Thursday night game is just painful to watch.

Nevertheless, Russell Wilson completed an eight-yard pass to Luke Willson for a touchdown.

Tyler Lockett caught 29-yard, six-yard and 15-yard passes. Rookie Michael Jordan has had a difficult time covering him.

Pete Carroll wins challenge and Rams turn ball over on downs

Pete Carroll has challenged two calls and has won them both.

This time, the Seahawks are rewarded with a turnover on downs as Todd Gurley was ruled short of a first down on fourth-and-one.

The Seahawks take over at their seven-yard line.

The Rams were starting to move the ball well, despite a long drop from rookie receiver Michael Thomas and then later Jared Goff missing a wide (WIDE) open Brian Quick in the end zone.

Todd Gurley has rushed for 19 yards in five carries.

Kenny Britt was injured early in the series but returned a few plays later.

Penalties slow the Seahawks in first series

Two penalties helped the Rams slow down the Seahawks in their first offensive series.

Jon Ryan punted.

Russell Wilson completed three of four passes for 15 yards and Thomas Rawls rushed for five yards in two carries.

But penalties helped stall the drive.

It's a chilly night in Seattle. The temperature at kickoff was 37 degrees.

The Rams are off to a rough start against the Seahawks

The Rams are off to a bad start against the Seahawks.

Jared Goff was sacked on third and long and Johnny Hekker punted.

Lance Kendricks missed a catchable ball on first down, Todd Gurley caught a short pass and was tackled for a two-yard loss on second down and then Goff couldn't get rid of the football with pressure coming.

Pharoh Cooper returned the opening kickoff with Benny Cunningham now on the injured reserve. Rookie Michael Thomas returned kicks last week, but had the unforgettable muff to start the game.
