Hickory County authorities investigating deadly helicopter crash

HICKORY COUNTY, Mo. -- Hickory County, Missouri authorities say a pilot and his passenger died when their helicopter crashed in a rural area near Cross Timbers.

21-yearold Missouri State University student Catalina Richard died in the crash.  She lived in Bolivar.  Richard's sister says the chopper was owned by Lucas Oil Speedway.  Richard says her sister and the pilot were only supposed to fly around the perimeter of an event put on by Lucas Oil Friday evening.

Investigators say the rugged terrain where the helicopter crashed made the rescue difficult.  The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
