The Ellis County Sheriff's Office says the death of an 18-year-old whose body was found Monday afternoon was accidental.
A coronor's report showed she died of Hypothermia along with a cerebral contusion and head injury from a fall.
The sheriff's office says its initial investigation shows 18-year-old Citlatli Armendariz left a party in the 1100 block of 250th Avenue and headed northwest. While walking, she accidentally fell from a six-foot embankment and landed head first on the ice in Big Creek.
She then crossed the creek and headed west for about a quarter-mile to the place where her body was found.
An autopsy determined she died at around 12:30 Sunday morning.
Investigators say there is no indication of foul play, though the investigation will continue.
Ellis County officials started looking for Armenderiz after getting a 911 call reporting a possible missing person, who was last seen at a party that night.
Search teams scoured the area near the home where she was last seen, but didn't find her. Their search continued Sunday and into Monday before her body was found in a clump of trees about a quarter-mile west of Highway 183 on the north side of Big Creek.
