Two local students will receive $52,000 scholarships to Wichita State University. The Harry Gore Memorial Scholarship winners were announced Thursday morning.
The winners are Amanda Johnson, who will be graduating from Wichita's Northwest High School, and Reegan Innes who will be graduating from Mulvane High School. Each student will receive $13,000 per year for four years.
The Gore scholarship is one of the largest in the state. A total of 413 students competed for the prize.
The scholarship was $48,000, but the school announced an increase when it announce the winners.
