Colder weather is on the way back to Kansas after a couple of milder days. Temperatures will dip back below normal for the upcoming week and this will likely be a lengthy stretch of cold weather for much of the area.
Overnight, skies will be mostly clear with lows near 10 in the northwest, but closer to 20 in Wichita. Winds will be light.
Sunday will bring another round of higher level clouds, with temperatures in the mid 30s for highs. Northwest winds should be fairly light, but could get a little gusty in western Kansas late in the day.
Clouds will be back on Christmas Eve day ahead of a storm system that will bring light snow to the area beginning Monday night. A major winter storm is not likely for the area, but light snow is expected on Christmas with the best chance for accumulations in the west. However, accumulations are likely to be on the lighter side (less than 4 inches) and significant blowing and drifting is also not likely to be a huge problem.
