An upper level disturbance over Missouri this morning remains nearly stationary sending clouds, a few sprinkles and showers into sections of eastern Kansas. The clouds and sprinkles will be most likely east of the Kansas Turnpike throughout the day, however a few may spread westward through the afternoon. Clouds diminish and sunshine will prevail across much of western Kansas. The north winds will keep it cool with highs in the 50s and lower 60s. More of the same tonight with clouds and spotty showers/sprinkles east and mostly clear to partly cloudy skies in the west. Overnight lows in the 30s to near freezing in the northwest with 40s expected central and east.
The disturbance over Missouri should begin to move south and east into Sunday. Clouds will still be hanging around most of the day with a few peeks of sun late in the day for central Kansas, while the western portions of Kansas will see more sunshine. Temperatures should be warmer and the wind will diminish too. Highs will be in the middle to upper 60s.
Warmer temperatures are on the way to start next week and there is a chance of showers and storms Tuesday through Friday. We are watching another cold front in Canada, that may move into Kansas for the weekend, bring cooler weather to the area.
