More than a hundred family members and friends gathered in memory of a Big Lake pilot Friday evening at the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum.
On Aug. 30, 58-year-old Scott Mueller died in a plane crash near McGrath. According to initial reports from the National Transportation Safety Board and Alaska State Troopers, Mueller was flying a Piper PA-18 Super Cub when it crashed during takeoff and landed into trees at the Tatitna air strip.
His passenger, 30-year-old Traegar Anderson, suffered minor injuries.
Anderson opened up the ceremony by playing guitar and singing a song in memory of Mueller.
Mueller’s loved ones were also in attendance and shared their thoughts.
"I knew throughout my entire lift that there was no doubt that my Dad loved me," Scott's daughter Brooke said. "He loved everybody and nobody ever had that doubt."
