Vista SWAT standoff ends with an arrest
VISTA, Calif. -- A man was arrested late Thursday evening in Vista after a SWAT team surrounded a hotel for five hours, officials said.

San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force said they discovered 31-year-old Jeremiah Figueroa inside the La Quinta Inn on 630 Sycamore Avenue around 5 p.m.

The officers evacuated the area and blocked off streets in order to detain Figueroa, who was suspected of being armed in the hotel, officers said.

An explosion was heard near the hotel around 10:20 p.m. and the suspect was arrested 20 minutes later, according to officials. No injuries were reported.

Figueroa had a warrant out for his arrest for a suspected armed robbery on May 27.
